Duties

District 87 is seeking an experienced, student-centered instructional leader who is excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful difference at Sheridan Elementary School. The successful candidate will be a visible, collaborative and consistent leader who builds strong relationships while maintaining high expectations for students and staff. We are looking for someone who understands instruction, MTSS, special education, student behavior and the unique needs of a diverse school community. The next principal should respect the strong systems already in place, bring people together and continue moving the school forward. Above all, we want a leader who will build authentic partnerships with families, advocate fiercely for students and staff and sees this principalship as an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

This is a 10-month position beginning August 2, 2027. The position responsibilities can be found here.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an ISBE Professional Educator License with an administrative endorsement.

Salary/Benefits

The annual base salary for this position is established within the range of $75,375 - $94,121.62. Placement within this range will be determined based on the candidate's commensurate experience in a comparable position.

• In addition to the annual base salary, an optional compensation amount of $20,988 can be deferred to a 403(b) retirement plan, family medical insurance and/or be taken as taxable cash compensation.
• TRS, employee medical insurance and a life insurance benefit are Board-paid by District 87.
• Dental, vision, voluntary life, flexible spending and dependent care are available at the employee''s expense.

Additional Notes

We are excited about your interest in our district! District 87 is home to one high school, one junior high, six elementary schools, and one early childhood school. We also have the Bloomington Career Academy which is provides career exploration opportunities to high school students at Bloomington High School and surrounding school districts.
