Principal Engineer

Position Summary

The Project Manager/Principal Engineer will lead the architectural and engineering team in developing complete construction documents for the removal and replacement of underground and aboveground storage tanks at three local transportation facilities. The role will oversee project scope, schedule, budget, multidisciplinary coordination, and the quality and timely delivery of design documents.

• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and overall design delivery.
• Lead coordination among civil, structural, environmental, and other applicable disciplines.
• Oversee the quality, completeness, and timely delivery of design documents.
• Coordinate existing-condition investigations and incorporate findings into the design.
• Identify and resolve design interfaces and conflicts across disciplines.
• Serve as a primary point of communication and coordination with the Owner.
• Oversee the preparation and review of construction-ready drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate technical decisions and design requirements among project stakeholders.
• Support development of practical, constructible solutions that address site and operational constraints.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary facility or infrastructure design projects involving storage tanks is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 12–15+ years of engineering experience

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000

Physical Requirements The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 1/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 2/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 2/3 of the day.

This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 70 pounds on an infrequent basis.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
