    Job Description

    About the Team

The Global Executive Marketing (GEM) team drives meaningful executive connections that shape preference, build advocacy, and accelerate revenue growth for AWS. We serve as executive subject matter experts at the intersection of relationship management, strategic program delivery, and cross-functional leadership - creating, orchestrating, and supporting moments that matter for the most senior decision-makers at our priority customers.

    About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Go-to-Market Channel, Executive Audience to define and own the multi-year channel strategy for executive audience engagement. This role will transform today"s landscape of one-off sponsorships and siloed program investments into a cohesive, portfolio of channel strategies - spanning digital content partnerships, media sponsorships, executive communities, and integrated event activations - that amplify AWS"s executive engagement priorities and deliver quantifiable business impact.

This is a strategic builder role operating with complete independence. You will discover and define the problem space, set the organizational vision for how AWS reaches executive audiences, and build the mechanisms that make it scalable and repeatable. You will work at the intersection of digital marketing, media strategy, executive engagement, and cross-functional leadership - serving as a trusted advisor on channel investment decisions that span geographies, personas, and segments.

The successful candidate is a proven force multiplier who has built mechanisms that scale globally. You are comfortable operating where business problems and strategy are not yet defined - discovering and framing the opportunity, setting priorities, deciding what not to do, and driving clarity across ambiguous executive priorities and market positioning.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Define and own the multi-year channel strategy for the executive audience, deliver the highest-value executive engagement across digital, in-person, and content-driven touchpoints
    • Build a scored portfolio framework for evaluating, prioritizing, and investing in third-party partnerships - moving the organization from reactive sponsorship decisions to a data-driven, integrated channel approach
    • Design channel strategies that span geographies, segments, and personas.
    • Translate persona research, audience insights, and engagement data into actionable channel architectures that reach the right executives, through the right channels, with the right content at the right time
    • Distinguish between one-way and two-way doors in channel investment decisions; advise senior leadership on where to make bold bets versus where to experiment and iterate
    • Aggregate and synthesize insights from customer engagement data, sales intelligence, competitive analysis, market trends, and field feedback to inform channel investment decisions
    • Manage complex portfolios with long-term business impact across multiple dimensions (geographies, segments, channels); make trade-offs between business opportunity, resources, and sustainability
    • Anticipate and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks - proactively identify underperforming investments, market shifts, and competitive dynamics that require strategy pivots
    • Develop test-and-learn frameworks for new channel investments, defining hypotheses, designing experiments, measuring outcomes, and iterating on the portfolio mix
    • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure channel investments are integrated and coordinated
    • Build consensus across complex stakeholder groups with competing priorities - harmonize discordant views, lead resolution of contentious issues, and align teams toward coherent channel strategies
    • Design and implement mechanisms that scale globally - including investment scoring frameworks, vendor evaluation criteria, performance dashboards, and governance models adopted across the GEM organization
    • Define new frameworks, governance structures, and operating models that enable the channel strategy function to operate at scale without direct involvement

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
