The Microsoft Windows & Devices team creates and delivers iconic products that people love and use every day. The Windows & Devices team is seeking a Principal Program Manager for silicon planning & partnerships with a passion for delivering industry-leading experiences through silicon.

In this role, you will plan and drive engagement with silicon companies to support our roadmaps, working in close collaboration with silicon architects, program managers, engineers, marketers, and other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive strategies for partnering with silicon companies.
  • Drive process to evaluate opportunities for silicon technology and IP.
  • Define business frameworks and drive complex business deals and contracts.
  • Define and drive internal and external processes to work effectively with partners, including driving the rhythm of business with internal and partner executive teams to realize strategic objectives.
  • Develop effective relationships across external partner organizations and drive day-to-day engagement.
  • Activate internal teams to align roadmaps and investments with silicon partners, including technology planning, device advocacy, and sales & marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful joint engineering.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in relevant technical domain (e.g., hardware, silicon, PCs, systems engineering), technical sales, marketing, product management, customer support, or cross-group/cross-functional engineering.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 12+ years experience in relevant technical domain (e.g., cloud services, security), technical sales, marketing, product management, customer support, or cross-group/cross-functional engineering OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with hardware or software technology products in product management or business planning or business development.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering impactful results in a matrixed environment, demonstrating effective cross-team and cross-function collaboration and influence.
  • 5+ years of experience defining and driving complex strategic partnerships with large companies.
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating effective communication and collaboration with executive leadership, to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • 5+ years of experience in the business of developing semiconductors and/or PCs.

Partner Enablement Program Mgmt IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
