Job Title: Principal Trainer

Location(s): San Francisco, CA
(Hybrid)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Principal Trainer for Epic Cupid clinical applications.
  • Provide end-user training, support, troubleshooting, and workflow guidance.
  • Distinguish between application build issues and training-related issues.
  • Work effectively with challenging or resistant end users.
  • Identify and document system issues for build analysts and technical teams.
  • Research complex issues spanning multiple applications and operational departments.
  • Support clinical application design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, and user support.
  • Analyze system performance and produce documentation, reports, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and managers as a technical resource and advisor.
  • Escalate issues involving patient safety, compliance, medical risk, significant workflow changes, or major project scope changes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Broad or in-depth knowledge of one or two clinical application specialty areas.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and end-user training skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and complete projects within deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to clinical and technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with users and stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.

Typical Issues Handled:

  • Training-related troubleshooting.
  • Differentiating training problems from application/build problems.
  • Supporting difficult or resistant end users.
  • Identifying and documenting system issues for build analysts.
  • Investigating complex, cross-application and cross-department workflows such as billing workflows.

Escalation Issues:

  • Problems affecting multiple users.
  • Patient safety, compliance, or medical-risk concerns.
  • EHR workflow changes requiring Health T governance.
  • Significant changes to project scope.
Additional Information
  • Location: Hybrid; multiple sites including Embarcadero, Parnassus, Mission Bay, Laurel Heights, Oakland/Emeryville, Mt. Zion, Stanyan, Hyde, and community partner locations
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday; some evenings and weekends may be required
  • Onsite requirement: Variable
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience/training
  • Required certification: Epic Cupid certification
  • Medical requirement: Full medical examination required for all candidates, including onsite, hybrid, and remote workers
