About the Role:

Responsibilities:

• Submit and manage prior authorization requests to insurance carriers on behalf of patients and providers
• Review clinical documentation to ensure accurate and complete authorization submissions
• Follow up on pending, denied, and approved authorizations in a timely manner
• Communicate authorization status updates to clinical staff, providers, and patients
• Appeal denied authorizations by gathering supporting medical documentation
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) or practice management system
• Stay current on payer-specific guidelines, medical policies, and insurance requirements

Requirements:

• Prior experience in prior authorization, medical billing, or healthcare administration preferred
• Familiarity with insurance verification, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and payer portals
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple authorizations simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with payers, providers, and patients
• Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical or billing certification a plus
