Private Companies Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Private Companies Associate Attorney with 4–6 years of experience to join a premier global corporate practice in San Diego or LA. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level corporate associate who wants to work with high-growth companies across a full spectrum of strategic transactions.
About the Role:
The position involves representing private and public companies—particularly emerging and high-growth businesses—in a wide variety of corporate matters. The associate will take on significant responsibility in financings, mergers and acquisitions, and daily corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent high-growth and emerging companies in venture financings, M&A transactions, and general corporate matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of corporate agreements
- Work closely with founders, executives, boards, and investors on corporate strategy
- Collaborate across practice groups in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment
- Support public company clients on corporate governance and compliance, as needed
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of corporate experience at a national or international law firm
- Strong background in financings, M&A, and general corporate work
- Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining high-quality work product
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $310,000–$390,000, based on experience and skillset
