Job Description

Prime Academics is seeking an exceptional Private Early Childhood Educator & Developmental Mentor to work with two children, ages 3 and 4.5, for a private family in Austin, Texas.

This is a highly personalized educational role that extends beyond traditional academics, nurturing the children's intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative development through conversation, books, creative play, projects, movement, nature, and hands-on exploration.

The educator will:

  • Build foundations in literacy, numeracy, language, and general knowledge
  • Create engaging lessons, projects, and activities inspired by the children's interests
  • Incorporate art, music, storytelling, theater, building, nature, movement, and imaginative play
  • Foster curiosity, independence, confidence, kindness, and sound judgment
  • Help the children develop strong academic foundations and enthusiasm for learning
  • Observe and adapt to each child's development and needs
  • Collaborate with Prime Academics and other educators, coaches, and specialists

The ideal candidate is:

  • Warm, energetic, engaging, and exceptionally comfortable with young children
  • Creative, intellectually curious, and resourceful
  • Knowledgeable about early childhood development and child-centered learning
  • Patient, emotionally intelligent, perceptive, and adaptable
  • Comfortable creating structure without rigidity and energized by active, hands-on learning
  • Proactive, organized, dependable, collaborative, and an excellent communicator
  • Mature and discreet, with the professionalism required to work within a private household

A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Exceptional candidates with unconventional but relevant backgrounds are welcome.

Prime Academics serves as the family's educational partner, helping design the broader program, coordinate specialty instructors, evaluate progress, and refine the experience as the children grow.

An ideal schedule is Monday–Friday, approximately 3–5 hours per day in the late morning and early afternoon, but the family is open to a different schedule to accommodate the right person for the role. This engagement will run from November through April, and compensation will start at $80.00+ per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications.
