Private Equity |Assistant Fund Controller | Boston, Hybrid
Join a leading private equity investment firm as an Assistant Fund Controller, where you'll oversee the accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds and investment vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for a fund accounting professional who enjoys driving process improvements, leveraging technology, and partnering across finance, legal, tax, and investment teams in a collaborative environment.
Compensation: $140,000-160,000 + bonus Schedule: Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite
What You'll Do
Oversee the accounting and reporting for private equity funds and investment vehicles.
Manage capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, and partner capital accounts.
Review quarterly and annual financial statements and coordinate annual audits.
Partner with third-party fund administrators to oversee general ledger activity, closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Support investment transaction accounting, treasury activities, and tax reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, partnership agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Drive process improvements through automation, AI tools, and financial systems enhancements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, legal, tax, and finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
6–10 years of private equity fund accounting, partnership accounting, or financial services experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and partnership accounting
Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, and investment teams
Advanced Excel skills and experience with fund accounting systems
Exposure to automation tools, data analytics, or AI-driven financial processes is a plus
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
