About The Role

The Pre-MBA Private Equity Associate will serve as a key member of the investment team and will work across all stages of the investment cycle from preliminary evaluation and due diligence through deal execution as well as value creation and portfolio management. ECC operates as a lean team with a flat organizational structure, so the Associate will gain meaningful exposure to critical aspects of the investment process and have the ability to make an immediate impact on the success of the group.

Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve as a key member of the ECC deal team.
  • Prepare internal and external presentations, reports, and investment memos.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models and analysis for potential investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies.
  • Evaluate prospective investments, including industry, financial and business due diligence.
  • Interact with third-party advisors including investment bankers, lenders, lawyers and due diligence advisors.
  • Support value creation initiatives at existing portfolio companies.

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree from a top tier institution
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience (investment banking, private equity, private credit, management consulting, etc.) with meaningful financial modeling background.
  • Completion of a formal financial training program is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex, raw data into clean and actionable analysis.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and the transaction due diligence process.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
  • First-rate project management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • High integrity individual with relentless work ethic, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 plus an annual discretionary performance-based bonus. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and performance
  • In addition to cash compensation, the Associate will be eligible for additional benefits including, but not limited to, participation in Emigrant's health & benefits plan, dental plan, and 401(k) plan with employer match.
