Responsibilities

• Provide PRN/per diem pathology coverage across multiple hospital locations throughout the greater Denver, CO area.

• Perform general surgical pathology services, including examination, interpretation, and diagnosis of tissue specimens.

• Perform intraoperative consultations and frozen section evaluations to support timely clinical decision-making.

• Provide clinical pathology interpretations and consultations to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.

• Review and interpret pathology findings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of diagnostic results.

• Collaborate with physicians, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

• Maintain compliance with established laboratory protocols, quality assurance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Provide flexible coverage based on departmental staffing and scheduling needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) is required.

• Additional subspecialty training and/or experience is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in general surgical pathology and clinical pathology interpretations.

• Recent hands-on experience performing frozen sections is required.

• Active Colorado medical license in good standing or eligibility to obtain a Colorado medical license.

• Ability to commit to scheduled PRN shifts at least two months in advance.

• Willingness to provide floating coverage at multiple hospital locations throughout the greater Denver area.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Strong diagnostic judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
