Pay: $100 per hour

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose, treat, and care for incarcerated patients.
Conduct physical examinations and identify short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed.
Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Manage wounds and infections.
Prescribe and administer medications as appropriate.
Counsel inmates on preventive care, medical problems, and use of prescribed treatment.
Performs routine wound care, minor debridement, and dressing changes.
Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Utilizes the results of Quality Assurance to improve standards of inmate care and standards of nursing practice.
Complies with all rules, directives, policies, procedures, and protocols of the intuition.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Current & valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
BLS/CPR certification
Current DEA license and prescriptive authority
Must be able to pass background check
Experience as practicing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate area of practice. Correctional experience preferred but not required.
