As a Radiation Therapist, you'll provide direct patient care within the scope of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. You'll use therapeutic communication, maintain a safe environment, and identify patient needs, planning individualized care with an interdisciplinary approach. You'll also participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the hospital's mission and vision.
What you will do in this role:
Assess patient status and their reaction to treatment daily, communicating concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Follow proper procedures for treatment field verification and approval.
Fabricate custom treatment devices according to proper procedures.
Educate patients about radiation therapy treatment procedures.
Set up and accurately deliver patient treatments based on prescriptions and treatment plans.
Operate linear accelerators, simulators, CT, and other related equipment safely and effectively.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduation from a school accredited in radiation therapy instruction. An Associate of Science (AS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is also acceptable.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (RT[T]).
One year of experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred.
Ability to work Monday-Friday, as needed.
