    PRN Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer)

    Location: DFW Area, TexasSchedule: PRN / As Needed (Monday–Saturday)Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience

    Requirements

    • Current ARDMS certification (required)
    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
    • Current BLS certification preferred
    • Excellent patient care and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience performing a variety of general ultrasound examinations preferred

    Job Summary

    North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a dependable, patient-focused PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This position offers flexible PRN scheduling with opportunities to work at multiple outpatient imaging centers throughout the DFW area.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and established imaging protocols.
    • Perform a variety of ultrasound studies, including abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular (if credentialed), small parts, and other examinations as assigned.
    • Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure a safe and comfortable imaging experience.
    • Obtain and document relevant patient history to assist with diagnostic interpretation.
    • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
    • Operate ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining exceptional image quality.
    • Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical history prior to imaging.
    • Accurately document patient information and imaging procedures in the electronic medical record.
    • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any equipment concerns or malfunctions.
    • Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
    • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
    • Assist with other duties as needed to support departmental operations.
