As an OB Ultrasound Tech, you’ll be a crucial part of our team, assisting our OB providers in determining gestational age, expected delivery dates, and stages of development. Your work will be at the heart of empowering patients and transforming lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze ultrasound images to identify healthy and abnormal areas, providing critical insights to the care team.
  • Ensure image quality is optimal by adjusting equipment settings and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes, positioning them, and applying gel while ensuring their comfort.
  • Communicate compassionately with patients to alleviate concerns and foster trust during examinations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in human anatomy, including normal and abnormal variations, to guide imaging and diagnosis.
  • Perform advanced scanning techniques and deliver quality patient care with precision.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and OB providers, sharing clinical histories and adjusting scan protocols as necessary.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound machines and transducers, promptly reporting any issues.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment while responding to inquiries from colleagues, physicians, and patients.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and regular meetings with the Director of Ultrasound to uphold high standards.
  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and sensitive information.
  • Contribute to Legacy Community Health's mission by embracing cultural diversity and delivering inclusive care.
  • Engage in safety training programs and meet departmental performance improvement goals.
  • Operate equipment safely and adhere to exposure control plans for pathogens.
  • Apply proper body mechanics to maintain a safe and ergonomic work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of clinical and classroom program meeting eligibility requirements of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers, maintaining good standing with the certifying body.
  • Maintain BLS/CPR certification.
  • Meet continuing education requirements by the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  •  At least 2 years of obstetric/fetal ultrasound experience required.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Above average organizational and strong computer skills.
  • Discretion and secure information management for handling confidential data.
  • Preferred: Bilingual English and Spanish speaking.
