    Description

Innophos is a leading international producer of specialty ingredient solutions serving the food, health, nutrition, and industrial markets. We're looking for a talented Process Engineer to join our Geismar facility and play a central role in optimizing our operations, leading improvements, and helping us build a safer, more efficient plant for the future.

If you're a sharp, solutions-oriented engineer who thrives at the intersection of data and hands-on problem solving, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilites

You'll split your time between strategic office work and real plant-floor engagement — bringing ideas to life where it counts. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll own a wide range of high-impact responsibilities:

    • Lead projects end-to-end — manage new equipment installations, coordinate timelines, and ensure seamless knowledge transfer to operators
    • Optimize production — evaluate process and lab data daily to improve yield, quality, and efficiency
    • Design and improve systems — run process simulations, test upgrades, and develop innovative solutions and best practices
    • Train and document — create clear operating instructions and process documentation that empower your team
    • Manage risk — conduct risk assessments and keep cost and time constraints on track
    • Champion safety — model and reinforce a culture where safety is everyone's first priority

    Required Education and Experience

    • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
    • 5+ years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical manufacturing

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Lean Manufacturing, GMP/FDA compliance, and Process Safety Management
    • Capital expenditure planning, unit operations, PLC and DCS systems
    • Ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, and regulatory documents
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and regulatory agencies
    • Experience responding to common inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Environmental and/or Physical Requirements

    • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available
    • Requires frequent plant field visits that may require the use of protective clothing & personal devices: Safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, mask, goggles, insulated gloves, safety vest, harness, hair net, slicker suit, self-contained breathing apparatus
