This role is central to ensuring accurate purchasing processes, optimizing inventory performance, and delivering actionable insights across multiple business units. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is comfortable working with large data sets.
Job Title: Procurement Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19154 (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $22-$27/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Planning Operations
- Review, analyze, and approve purchase order requisitions for accuracy and alignment with operational goals
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels across multiple distribution centers
- Evaluate supply plans, demand forecasts, and key inventory performance metrics
- Identify discrepancies, shortages, or risks and recommend corrective actions
Business Analytics & Reporting
- Conduct ad hoc analysis for operations, finance, and business units
- Develop dashboards and reports to support procurement and inventory decision-making
- Analyze trends in buying patterns, lead times, stock levels, and demand variability
- Work with large data sets to identify patterns, opportunities, and risks
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with purchasing, category management, operations, and finance teams
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels
- Support and train internal users on procurement tools and best practices
Process Improvement & Systems
- Utilize demand planning tools to improve forecasting accuracy
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and data integrity
- Support documentation of procurement and planning procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement, inventory planning, or supply chain analytics
- Strong understanding of inventory management and forecasting principles
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Experience working with large data sets; Power BI or Tableau is a plus
- ERP system familiarity (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
