Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Buyer II to join the procurement team of a well-established, global aerospace and defense OEM in the greater Los Angeles area. This role manages the purchasing cycle for assigned products, from supplier quotations and selection through purchase order placement and on-time delivery.
The Buyer II works closely with Planning, Operations, Quality, and Engineering to align material availability with production needs, resolve purchasing and supplier issues, and reduce supply chain risk. This position also supports improvements in supplier performance, cost, and lead times within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:Sourcing, Pricing & Purchasing-
Issue requests for quotation and evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, and inventory availability.

Select suppliers and award purchase orders for assigned direct and indirect materials.

Perform cost and price analysis for competitive and noncompetitive procurements to support purchasing decisions and achieve favorable pricing.

Negotiate pricing and establish long-term pricing agreements as appropriate.
Material Availability & Delivery-
Establish supplier schedules at purchase order placement to align with production needs and delivery commitments.

Monitor open orders, identify potential supply disruptions, and support actions to maintain material availability.

Partner with Planning and Value Stream teams to prioritize requirements and expedite critical materials.

Work with Delivery Assurance to coordinate recovery plans for late or at-risk materials.

Resolve invoice discrepancies, incorporate engineering changes into purchase orders, and coordinate rework and return orders.
Collaboration, Compliance & Improvement-
Communicate purchasing priorities, supplier risks, and order status to Planning, Operations, Quality, and Engineering.

Ensure purchasing activities follow company processes, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.

Support continuous improvement efforts focused on supplier performance, cost, lead times, and material planning.
Required Qualifications:-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.

Experience in aerospace manufacturing.

Demonstrated ability to perform cost and price analysis for competitive and noncompetitive procurements.

Strong understanding of material planning concepts, including lot sizing, production scheduling, and supply-and-demand alignment.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as Visual, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with supplier replenishment programs and inventory management strategies.

Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other applicable regulations, including familiarity with FAR and DFARS.

Understanding of nondisclosure requirements and the proper handling of proprietary and sensitive information.

Excellent communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.

Strong sense of urgency and accountability, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority issues simultaneously.
Pay Rate: $40 - $50/hr
