Now Hiring: Procurement / Buyer

Location: Prosperity, SC

Pay: $20–$30/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Procurement/Buyer for a manufacturing facility in Prosperity, SC. This position is responsible for managing purchasing activities, inventory, vendor relationships, and the timely ordering of materials needed to support facility operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site purchasing, ordering, and inventory
• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts
• Review requisitions, bids, and vendor quotes and convert approved requests into purchase orders
• Communicate and work directly with vendors to secure materials and services
• Coordinate with internal departments and Graphic Packaging Corporation as needed
• Purchase a wide variety of materials, ranging from everyday supplies and PPE to high-volume production materials such as resin
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to obtain the best value in cost, quality, delivery, and service
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve purchasing or delivery issues
• Follow up on open purchase orders and obtain outstanding vendor invoices
• Review and update purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with new vendor setup and onboarding
• Research vendor payments and maintain accurate purchasing records
• Meet monthly procurement performance goals

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
• Industrial or manufacturing experience required
• Experience with bidding, negotiating, and managing vendor contracts
• Paperboard manufacturing and/or extrusion experience preferred
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• SAP experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
