This role is responsible for sourcing critical materials, equipment, components, construction-related materials, and services while coordinating with suppliers, engineering teams, project teams, logistics, warehouse operations, and internal stakeholders. The Procurement Specialist will help ensure materials are procured accurately, competitively, and on schedule to support successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has experience in purchasing, sourcing, procurement, supplier coordination, or supply chain operations within semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, industrial equipment, construction, cleanroom, or other high-tech environments. This position requires strong attention to detail, supplier-management skills, analytical ability, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

  • Support sourcing activities for semiconductor materials, manufacturing equipment, construction-related materials, technical components, and critical project services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain qualified suppliers based on cost, quality, technical capability, lead time, delivery reliability, service level, and commercial terms.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations, Requests for Proposals, bid packages, and supplier inquiries.
  • Review supplier quotations, compare pricing, evaluate commercial terms, analyze lead times, and prepare procurement recommendations for internal review.
  • Support supplier negotiations related to pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranty requirements, quality expectations, and commercial agreements.
  • Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, material availability, pricing trends, and lead-time risks to support informed sourcing decisions.
  • Work with engineering and project teams to confirm technical specifications, approved vendors, material requirements, and procurement priorities.
  • Support procurement planning for long-lead equipment, critical materials, project-specific items, and recurring operational needs.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and service providers.
  • Coordinate supplier communication related to quotations, purchase orders, delivery schedules, technical documentation, material substitutions, quality concerns, and open action items.
  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification, documentation collection, and compliance processes.
  • Track supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, pricing, documentation, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with resolving supplier issues that may affect project schedules, material availability, quality requirements, or operational continuity.
  • Escalate supplier risks, delivery delays, quality concerns, commercial issues, or supply continuity concerns to the appropriate procurement or project stakeholders.
  • Support supplier-performance reviews, corrective-action follow-up, and continuous-improvement efforts.

Purchase Order & Material Management

  • Create, process, issue, maintain, and close purchase orders within ERP, procurement, inventory, or supply chain management systems.
  • Verify purchase-order accuracy, including supplier information, quantities, pricing, specifications, delivery requirements, terms, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, engineering, project management, construction, and field teams to support timely material availability.
  • Track purchase-order status, supplier commitments, shipment updates, delivery schedules, backorders, and material-readiness requirements.
  • Support inventory visibility, material tracking, receiving coordination, and delivery planning for project-related materials and equipment.
  • Assist with resolving purchase-order discrepancies, incorrect shipments, damaged materials, missing documentation, invoice issues, and supplier-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase-order files, supplier documentation, quotation logs, and material-status records for reporting and audit requirements.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

  • Track procurement spending, supplier pricing, purchase-order activity, cost trends, and budget-related information.
  • Support budget management by reviewing supplier quotations, identifying cost variances, and monitoring procurement commitments.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimization, sourcing efficiencies, process improvements, and improved commercial terms.
  • Assist with development and improvement of procurement procedures, sourcing workflows, supplier-management practices, and purchasing documentation standards.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives related to procurement operations, material availability, supplier performance, ERP data accuracy, and purchase-order processing.
  • Prepare procurement reports, sourcing summaries, supplier-performance updates, spend analyses, and material-status information for management and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, financial controls, quality requirements, contract terms, and project standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Support

  • Partner with engineering, project management, construction, warehouse, logistics, finance, operations, and leadership teams to support material readiness and project execution.
  • Communicate procurement status, material risks, supplier updates, delivery concerns, cost impacts, and required actions clearly and promptly.
  • Participate in project meetings, procurement reviews, supplier discussions, material-readiness meetings, and operational planning sessions as needed.
  • Support resolution of supply-chain issues by coordinating practical solutions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a proactive, organized, and solution-oriented approach while managing multiple supplier relationships, project needs, and procurement deadlines.
