You participate in a greater team initiative (e.g., publishing technical documents, creating/improving processes/standards, teaching design classes). You own a user or consumer product design area/material/component/system of high complexity, or several user or consumer product design areas/components/systems of moderate complexity. Note: In accordance with regional legislation, in certain locations the job title for this role might be 'Developer' or 'Consultant' rather than 'Engineer'.

Responsibilities include:
- Considered a "go-to" expert in one area within Product Design. Demonstrate engineering expertise through user
- or consumer-focused product influence in multiple cross-functional areas (e.g., RF, Antenna, EE, Sensor, Materials Science, Operations, CM Processes, Sustainability).
- Apply engineering fundamentals, analyze data, and implement findings at the product level. May solve complex mission-critical issues.
- Demonstrates Design expertise through user or consumer-focused product influence in an aesthetic area (e.g., Industrial Design, User Experience, Graphical Artwork, Human Factors, CMF, usability/serviceability) where applicable.
- Execute work independently, identify and communicate program roadblocks.
- Provide guidance to and may mentor junior engineers. Actively participate in design reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Regularly demonstrate unique/innovative system-level solutions.
- Demonstrate deep technical knowledge in multiple areas to deliver high-quality and reliable mass-production user or consumer products (e.g., sheet metal, machining, anodization, injection molding, coatings, raw materials, packaging, thermals, FEA).
- May present to management and cross-functional management.
- Anticipate and address product design issues or risks. Ensure validation of product design and implement design improvement.
- Find and solve urgent cross-functional, time-dependent issues. May act as drive for cross-functional effort.
- Participate in a greater team initiative (e.g., publishing technical documents, creating/improving processes/standards, teaching design classes, community contribution activities).

Minimum role qualifications requirement:
- 5 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.

Minimum role qualification requires proficiency in:
- Design expertise
- Manufacturing process knowledge
- Technical data analysis and synthesis
- Manufacturing processes
- Troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Product development lifecycle
- Engineering fundamentals
