Job Role:

• The nature of the work is focused on research and development of products from conception to retail to meet the needs of accounts and consumers. Ideation & Visioning
• Generates new ways of thinking about aspects of performance based products that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace.
• Develops ideas that are consistent with the vision for new products by collaborating with product creation on the genesis of new product concepts for all business units.
• Research/Engineering - defines protocol and establishes scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept. In line with advanced knowledge of the consumer, business, and performance requirements, develops concrete insights which feed into the development of advanced product concepts through the use of new technologies or construction processes.
• Delivers proof of concept by turning concepts and new product visions into reality.
• Identifies key elements of product construction materials and processes. Engineers prototypes.
• Project Management - Leads innovation projects turning concept ideation into reality by working in, or with, multi-disciplinary teams to include product creation, manufacturing, and 3rd party vendors.
• Meets complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions.
• Communication - drafts reports and presents results and market concepts at the functional department level.
• Clearly and concisely communicates the knowledge required and best practices assist transition of technology to product.
• Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 8 or 9 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law 6 yrs; Masters 7 yrs; Associates degree 9 yrs; High School 10 yrs.

Job role:

• On-site role at PHK; typical work hours, 4/1 hybrid schedule (some Fridays may be required on site as per business needs)
• Contract will support FTE leave; engagement will last ~8 months from start date

• Degree preferred, not a hard requirement
• 7 years experience minimum preferred in a footwear designer role
  
  Top must-have skills include the following:
  • Ability to handle projects independently that are technical and performance-driven
  • Strong concept building skills
  • Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Flexibility/maturity to pivot and prioritize responsibilities as needed
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
• Skills that would make a candidate stand out:
  • 3D rendering experience
  • Use of AI tools (i.e. Vizcom) for conceptual generation
  • Experience working in a large, matrix organization
• The main focus of the role will be to support design around cleated footwear (cricket, football, baseball) on the Field Sports footwear design team
• 2 rounds of interviews anticipated
