Summary

At Mondo Robot (mondorobot.com), we design and build digital experiences that move the human experience forward. We specialize in experience strategy, product design, interactive design, digital branding, emerging technology, full stack engineering and buttery smooth interfaces.

We are looking for someone to enter our circle of designers who can play a foundational role in the execution of stunning and effective digital experience work as a daily tactical contributor in the design process, while working in tandem with other designers to elevate the experiences we create and inspire the culture of our team.

As a Product Designer at Mondo Robot, you’ll work directly with other designers, cross-functional team members and partner stakeholders under the direction of design leadership to conceptualize, define, and design the strategy, experience design and user interfaces for innovative digital products and interactive experiences. You’ll focus on applying and refining your design specializations and deepening your knowledge of adjacent skills as you collaborate on initial concepts, UX documentation, UI design and prototypes that articulate how and why a compelling digital experience should come to life.

You’ll be a passionate, yet pragmatic design thinker and maker who is ready and willing to receive and act upon meaningful feedback by seeking out the right questions, ideating on possible solutions, and contributing anything you can to the shared cause of putting exceptional work into the wild.

We are based out of Boulder, CO, but this role is fully remote. You will report to the Executive Creative Director.

Skills & Qualifications

This position requires 2+ years experience as a UX, UI or Product Designer, or proof of education and work that shows your potential and process in the field.

Your primary skills are…

• Experience with Figma, Adobe CC and any other relevant design tools, and a desire and aptitude to broaden your skills within these tools

• A clear focus and comprehension in one or more key areas of the digital experience design process, including product strategy, IA, UX, UI, interactive design, Design Systems, requirements delivery or optimization

• An aptitude for asking the right questions, identifying key design problems and opportunities, and articulating multiple possible solutions

• Being self-motivated, detail-oriented and purposeful

• Working to develop and evolve your knowledge, skills and approach within the end-to-end design process

• Seeking out and leveraging strategic perspectives in the design process

• Collaborating with talent across your team and disciplines

• Developing sound rationale for your design decisions, and feeding off of meaningful feedback

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with colleagues and partners

• A desire to understand the impact that technology and business needs have on design requirements

• A portfolio that reflects strengths in conceptual thinking, UX, and visual design

• Jumping into new topics and learning new ideas and skills rapidly

• Designing one or more digital experiences that have been launched and used by others

• Collaborating with your team to create the best possible, most well-crafted product

• Using emotional intelligence and empathy to build strong bonds within internal and external teams

• Presenting to clients and partners and justifying your work

• Absorbing feedback and organizing it into a plan of action

• Staying on top of emerging technology and design trends

You might also know something about…

• User Research and Experience Strategy

• Mentoring other designers and presenting your perspectives

• 3D, Animation, Illustration, Video Editing and Front End Engineering are not required but any are a plus

• Design systems, including how to build, maintain and evolve them as a product or solution scales

• Agile software development process and the role of design therein
