Product Development Engineer / Packaging

About the Role

This role involves applying technical expertise to develop and implement products and processes that align with market needs and business strategy. The position exists to support technical product development and process improvements, ensuring the organization meets customer demands and stays ahead of industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply understanding of customer needs and internal technology capabilities to design and implement products and processes.
• Represent the company's technical voice with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Stay informed about relevant technology changes and trends.
• Drive critical to quality specifications and problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead or support programs through stage gate processes.
• Plan, execute, and analyze production trials using Design of Experiment and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ensure proper documentation and contribute to the knowledge library.
• Protect intellectual property while meeting stakeholder needs with appropriate information sharing.
• Develop and support training on standard procedures.
• Leverage understanding of material and equipment capabilities to meet customer needs.
• Improve performance across the organization by understanding cross-functional business processes.
• Continuously learn and share knowledge to advance organizational capability.
• Lead technical process developments and improvements to generate new technology and value.
• Engage with a global technical community for information sharing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborate to generate new, workable ideas and contribute to research proposals.

Minimum Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Polymer Science preferred.
• 5-8 years of technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing R&D or process role.
• Experience leading product and process development projects with sustained results.
• Demonstrated expertise in multiple technologies/processes.
• Proficiency in Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis.
