We are seeking a hands-on Product Development Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team at an established technology company specializing in advanced biometric identification solutions. This role offers the opportunity to guide product development across software, firmware, and hardware engineering while remaining actively involved in technical problem-solving and product performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering background, experience leading engineering teams, and a passion for developing reliable, high-performance technology. This is a player-coach position for someone who enjoys mentoring engineers, managing development timelines, and working directly with the team to solve complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 6–8 engineers across software, firmware, and hardware engineering.

• Oversee product development from initial design through testing, troubleshooting, and final delivery.

• Manage project schedules, engineering priorities, and development deadlines.

• Lead root cause analysis and failure analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

• Work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot technical problems and improve product reliability.

• Provide hands-on technical guidance while supporting the professional development of team members.

• Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts to ensure products meet performance, quality, and delivery requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve development processes, product performance, and engineering efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Significant experience in software engineering, product development, or engineering leadership.

• Previous experience managing or leading a team of engineers.

• Experience working across software, firmware, and hardware development environments.

• Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, testing, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.

• Experience with root cause analysis, failure analysis, and resolving complex engineering issues.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on schedule.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $160,000–$210,000, depending on experience.

• Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to project deadlines and company profitability.

• Eligibility for company profit-sharing bonuses, with potential payouts ranging from 1% to 20%, based on company performance and applicable plan terms.
