We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead design engineering activities from pre-program through launch. This position will focus on developing upper body structures to meet vehicle performance requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
5 years of experience as a structures D&R Engineer
Experience designing, developing, and releasing automotive sheet metal components
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Working knowledge of Catia V5/V6 and/or 3DX CAD
Prior work experience with Ford body commodities or in the automotive industry
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of vehicle body structural performance requirements
Experience with CAE correlation reviews and optimization strategies
Knowledge of DMAIC and DFSS principles
Experience with 8D, fishbone, and DOE problem-solving methodologies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead Purchasing, Finance, and Cost Estimating in supplier selection to achieve program targets
Develop component designs that meet customer and manufacturing requirements
Interface with engineers of surrounding components and systems
Release 3-D CAD that meets system design requirements
Support supplier and CAE testing of structure and closure designs
Manage Final Engineering Sign-off and production vehicle launch
