Tesla's industrial products team is working on new hardware for AI data centers and we are looking for a Product Manager to lead this effort from the ground up. This role requires someone who thrives in high-ambiguity, high-speed environments and can build and ship complex hardware products with limited precedent. You will define the product strategy, lead cross-functional development, and work closely with engineering leaders, sales, and operations to bring an innovative data center hardware solution to market quickly and at scale.
Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Tesla's data center hardware offering
Lead cross-functional product development from concept through design, qualification, launch, and field deployment
Develop and maintain product requirements informed by active stakeholder discovery, technical constraints, and market signals
Drive rapid iteration cycles and make data-driven product decisions in a fast-moving development environment
Build deep customer understanding by engaging directly with data center operators, hyperscalers, and colocation providers - translating their power density, cooling, and infrastructure requirements into product specs
Partner with hardware and software engineering teams to solve complex system-level technical challenges including power distribution, thermal management, and physical infrastructure
Define go-to-market approach and product positioning in collaboration with Sales and Commercial teams
Develop technical documentation, product specifications, and customer-facing materials
Manage product lifecycle from early-stage development through volume production and sustaining engineering
Represent the product in cross-functional forums and communicate clearly to executive stakeholders
5+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or technical business development with recent direct exposure to data center hardware, power infrastructure, or a closely related domain
Working knowledge of data center systems including power distribution (UPS, PDU, busway), cooling technologies (air, liquid, immersion), and rack-level infrastructure
Familiarity with data center performance metrics and standards - including PUE, power density (kW/rack), and Uptime Institute tier classifications
Comfortable operating in environments with significant ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements
Strong technical background - ability to engage deeply with hardware engineering teams and evaluate system-level design tradeoffs
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders across engineering, sales, and executive leadership
Strong customer discovery skills - ability to generate product insights from early-stage customer conversations
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
High sense of urgency, ownership mentality, and genuine excitement for building at the frontier of energy and compute infrastructure
