Candidates for this position are preferred to be based in Boston, MA and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements.
Our Financing & Loyalty Technology team builds the products that shape how customers pay for their homes and what they get back for choosing us — consumer financing across multiple providers, the Wayfair Credit Card, and Wayfair Rewards, our membership program. Together these are among the most direct levers Wayfair has on customer lifetime value, and they touch millions of customers every week.
Furnishing a home is expensive. A sofa, a mattress, a full room — these are purchases customers plan around, and for many of them the ability to pay over time is what turns a browse into an order. Financing is one of the most direct levers we have on whether a customer can say yes.
Wayfair offers financing through a portfolio of third-party partners. Each brings different economics, approval characteristics, promotional mechanics, and product features which creates experience tension and opportunity. We strive to create capabilities that work across every partner, so that adding the next one is a configuration rather than a rebuild. We also want to take genuine advantage of what makes each partner distinctive, where the payoff justifies the specificity.
You will own the financing experience across the full funnel. That starts well before checkout — helping customers understand affordability while they are still browsing, and surfacing targeted prequalification at the moments where it helps rather than intrudes — and runs all the way through cart and checkout, where the customer chooses how to pay. It also includes our financing messaging: both the everyday presentation of monthly pricing and terms, and the special promotional campaigns we run through the year, along with the toolkit that makes those campaigns repeatable instead of bespoke every time.
This is a highly collaborative role. Financing sits next to the Wayfair Credit Card, Rewards, and Payments, and the customer does not experience these as separate products — so you will work closely with those teams, alongside Engineering, Design, Data Science, Analytics, Commercial, and Legal. Externally, you will be the day-to-day product counterpart to our financing partners.
Own the product plan for financing: Turn business goals into a clear roadmap, well-defined requirements, and epics your team can build against. Sequence the work and keep it moving.
Build across the portfolio, not partner by partner: Develop shared capabilities — eligibility, offer presentation, routing, messaging — so that supporting an additional financing partner does not mean starting over.
Make the most of each partner: Identify where a specific partner offers something genuinely differentiated, and make the call on when that is worth building for directly
Target the right provider and offer to the right customer: Decide who sees which financing option and which offer, rather than showing everyone the same thing. Work with Data Science on eligibility signals, prequalification targeting, and personalized purchase power
Own the full-funnel experience: Build affordability awareness in the upper funnel, targeted prequalification through the middle, and a clear, trustworthy tender experience in cart and checkout.
Run financing messaging and promotions: Own everyday monthly-pricing and terms messaging across surfaces, deliver the special promotional financing campaigns, and build the toolkit that makes each campaign faster than the last.
Partner across the portfolio: Work closely with the Credit Card, Rewards, and Payments teams so that what a customer sees across these products is coherent rather than competing.
Manage the partner relationship day to day: Be the product counterpart to our third-party financing providers — translate program mechanics and contractual commitments into requirements, and keep integrations healthy.
Get the details right: Financing is full of edge cases and real constraints. Work with Legal and Compliance so that disclosures, terms, and promotional claims are accurate everywhere they appear.
Measure and iterate: Define success metrics, track financing attach and approval rates and their effect on conversion and order value, and run structured experiments with Data Science to validate what works.
Keep everyone current: Run product forums with your key partners, integrate their feedback, and update stakeholders in the way that suits each audience.
You have 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in consumer fintech, payments, lending, or e-commerce checkout.
You are comfortable owning a product plan and a set of requirements against defined outcomes, and you execute autonomously once you know what the goal is.
You have worked with third-party integrations or vendors, and you understand that the partner relationship is part of the product rather than a procurement detail.
You are detail-oriented. You notice the edge case, the missing disclosure, and the state nobody designed for — and you care enough to chase it down.
You are analytical and comfortable working directly with data to size an opportunity, diagnose a problem, and read a test result honestly.
You have enough technical fluency to work well with engineers on how a system should behave. You do not need to write code, but you should be able to follow and contribute to the conversation.
You communicate clearly and build credibility quickly with engineering, design, and business partners.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
