Production Assembler (Spinach)

Position Summary:

The Spinach Assembler plays an important role in the Hellas Production of authentic Greek baked goods. A Spinach Assembler is a dependable, detail-oriented team member who helps prepare, assemble, and package products within the Wholesale Plant. The main responsibility is folding filo dough around prepared fillings to make our popular spanakopita (spinach pies) and tyropita (cheese pies). A successful Assembler is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, keeps pace with their team, and loves to use their hands for small intricate folds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work on a conveyor belt or assembly line as part of a 2 to 3 person team.

• Place sheets of filo dough on the line in a consistent manner while maintaining the required production pace.

• Fold filo dough neatly around pre-portioned filling using the required folding method and shape.

• Keep production moving efficiently while working as part of a team.

• Ensure every product meets Hellas’ standards for quality and consistency.

• Keep machines and work area clean and organized.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

• Assist in other areas throughout Production as needed.

Key Qualifications:

• Food production or bakery experience is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn matter, too!

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Must have ability to remain stationary for periods of up to eight hours in length.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

• Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

• Hand to eye coordination and good hand dexterity.

• Flexible Availability: Including weekends and holidays based on business needs.

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.

• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

• Must be able to do repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours.
