ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE
Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch, land, and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond. As the partner of choice for critical space missions, Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24-hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.
Position Summary
Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Production Control Scheduler to own the integrated schedule and workflow for the ETL, Briggs test stands, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) lab, and other internal inspection and testing operations.
This position connects manufacturing output, test and inspection capacity, and program requirements. The scheduler will develop executable work-center schedules based on program need dates, hardware readiness, labor, equipment availability, resource capacity, and required work sequence.
The successful candidate must have solid scheduling fundamentals and experience applying them in a professional scheduling tool. This is a floor-focused role requiring regular presence at both Cedar Park and Briggs and direct coordination with Manufacturing, Test Operations, Engineering, Quality, Metrology, Supply Chain, Production Control, and Program Operations.
Responsibilities
Own and maintain capacity-constrained schedules for the ETL, Briggs test stands, CMM lab, and internal inspection and testing work centers.
Translate program milestones and customer need dates into logically linked daily, weekly, and longer-range schedules.
Establish activity sequences, dependencies, resource requirements, constraints, and critical paths.
Manage part and test-article flow through testing, dimensional inspection, internal checks, data review, disposition, and release to the next operation.
Evaluate work-center demand against available labor, equipment capability, test-stand availability, historical performance, and planned maintenance.
Confirm hardware readiness before assigning test or inspection capacity, including:
Manufacturing and assembly completion
Approved test or inspection requirements
Correct engineering configuration
Tooling, fixtures, instrumentation, and support equipment
Required personnel and facility resources
Quality, metrology, engineering, and safety approvals
Maintain visibility of ready work, blocked work, work in process, queue aging, forecast completion dates, and downstream schedule impacts.
Work with production and test teams to establish daily priorities and ensure resources are assigned to the most critical work.
Identify schedule conflicts, part shortages, capacity constraints, and risks before they affect program commitments.
Develop forward- and backward-scheduled recovery options following test failures, nonconformances, equipment downtime, rework, or changing program priorities.
Coordinate priorities when multiple programs compete for the same test, inspection, or technical resources.
Maintain schedule baselines and perform critical-path, capacity, schedule-variance, and planned-versus-actual analysis.
Maintain current execution status in Odoo and approved scheduling and visual-management systems.
Provide concise updates on priorities, schedule risks, required decisions, and recovery actions during operating-tier and program reviews.
Escalate issues that may affect manufacturing output or program IMS commitments.
Use performance data to improve planning assumptions, schedule accuracy, work-center utilization, and overall hardware flow.
