Description

Production Coordinator Job Purpose: Assist in coverage of Production Control functions, expediting jobs through manufacturing, working with Production Supervisors and attend Production meetings. Maintains various daily/weekly reports, works with Engineering to schedule new jobs. Backs up the Production Supervisor as needed. Nature of Duties: Scheduling: Reviewing master production schedules and work orders to establish priorities. Material Management: Tracking raw materials, notifying purchasing of shortages, and coordinating delivery to the floor. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicating with quality control, shipping, and maintenance to ensure steady workflow. Reporting: Compiling daily reports on production output, downtime, scrap, and efficiency metrics. Process Improvement: Identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements to maximize capacity. Notifies appropriate personnel when material quantities are low Prepares and participates in yearly physical inventory Periodically checks for unsafe conditions and corrects as needed Practices proper lifting techniques and safe working habits Additional duties as assigned Education and Experience : High School diploma or equivalent required 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing, logistics, or operations role. Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and cross-departmental communication skills Proficiency in ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) MS Excel Must be organized and detail-oriented Physical Demands: Lifting & Carrying: Frequently lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects weighing between 30 and 50 lbs unassisted; heavier items may require team-lifting. Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously across the manufacturing floor or warehouse. Agility: Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching (above shoulder height and below the waist) to access materials, log files, or inspect equipment.
