    Description

Help grow a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day.

    Purpose

Do you have a passion for designing and validating manufacturing processes, solving complex engineering problems, and driving continuous improvement on the production floor? Do you thrive on bridging the gap between product design and manufacturing, ensuring seamless transitions from prototype to full production? If so, you could be an excellent fit for our Production Engineer role located at our US site in Sussex, Wisconsin.

The AVIRE US team is seeking a technically driven Production Engineer to support our growing manufacturing operations. You will own process design, Production tooling, validation, engineering changes, trouble shooting and continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, supply chain, and production to optimize our end-to-end manufacturing flow and deliver products on time, at optimized cost, and to the required quality standards.

    What will you be doing?

As the Production Engineer, you will serve as a manufacturing subject matter expert across new product introduction, sustaining engineering, and process improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, validating, and optimizing Production tooling and processes to support both new product launches and legacy products through their full lifecycle.

    Essential Functions:

New Product Introduction and Design Support

Lead manufacturing input into NPI - providing engineering support, tooling, PFMEAs, labor standards and test strategies from prototype through production release

    Process and Documentation Ownership

Own the design, governance and control of manufacturing processes, work instructions, test fixtures and production programming, acting as manufacturing authority for process changes

Facility Layout, Capacity and Resource Planning

Define plant layout, production flow and capacity plans, and coordinate manufacturing engineering resources to meet operational demand.

    Equipment, Tooling and Technology Roadmap

Maintain and improve production equipment and tooling to maximise OEE, and shape AVIRE's technology, automation and digitalisation roadmap.

    Sustaining Engineering and Failure Analysis

Support the product lifecycle through root cause analysis, bottleneck resolution and supplier engagement on quality and specifications.

    Lean and Continuous Improvement

Drive lean, constraint analysis and workflow optimisation on site, partnering with the global CI team to improve quality, cost, delivery and productivity.

    Training and Knowledge Transfer

Train Production personnel on new processes, procedures and equipment

    Safety, Quality and Compliance Authority

Authorised to stop production where safety, quality or regulatory standards are not met; regular on-site attendance is essential

    Leadership Competencies

Action-Oriented Curiosity: You readily take on challenges, and you identify and seize new opportunities. You have an outstanding history of delivering on your projects. You work on the problems that truly need to be solved, and you effectively challenge the organization to be better. You can cut through the clutter and focus on the priorities that align with organizational objectives.

Collaboration: You embrace the unique experiences, viewpoints, and abilities of your teammates and proactively engage those differences to come to the best possible outcome.

Empowerment: You thrive in an environment where you can make decisions. You do not shy away from taking a stand, and you recognize the importance of challenging the team to ensure that we strive for more.

Accountability: You take responsibility for your actions, and you deliver on your commitments.

Inclusion: In all aspects of your work, you treat everyone with respect.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field with 5-9 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering; or Master's degree in a related field with 3-7 years of relevant experience; or 8+ years of direct relevant work experience.

    • Knowledge of quality system regulations and standards (e.g. ISO 9001, UL, EN 81-28).

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and design tooling architectures, develop processes, define process controls, and validate process and product performance.

    • Experience in analytical and problem-solving using statistical methodologies.

    • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams in a complex manufacturing/engineering environment.

    • Ability to assess proposed mechanical/electrical design architectures and identify potential issues with manufacturing, assembly, and service.

    • Knowledge of JIT manufacturing, demand flow, and lean manufacturing principles; Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly desired.

    • Familiarity with a high-level programming language or software to support automated testing and data collection is a plus.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and supplier personnel.

    • Must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple assignments, and work with self-initiative and independent judgment under limited supervision.

    • Experience with U.S., Canadian, and international product safety standards (ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC) is a plus.
