Manufacturing runs on trusted data. Chipton-Ross is looking for a Production Engineering Data Steward for a contract assignment in Owego, NY. In this full-time, 1st-shift role with a 4/10 schedule, you’ll own the accuracy and consistency of manufacturing part attributes, enabling teams to move faster and make better decisions.
Your Mission
Champion the database that powers production. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Master Data Analysts, and Component Engineers to ensure part attribute data is complete, consistent, and usable across sites. You’ll resolve cross-site data discrepancies, reduce system errors, and provide targeted feedback that strengthens PLM automation. As a trusted SME in PTC Windchill/MPMLink, you’ll mentor new engineers, build insightful metrics, and help drive the client’s 1LMX Transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and refine the part data repository supporting manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot system errors and reconcile data mismatches with limited supervision
- Identify and fix cross-site data issues to align standards and specifications
- Generate metrics to monitor data quality and process performance
- Coach new engineers on data stewardship and PLM best practices
- Influence automation enhancements within PLM to improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Great communicator with a strong technical background
- Analytical experience working directly with databases
- Manufacturing or Military Specification experience
- PLM proficiency (PTC products preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems independently (system errors, data mismatches)
Preferred Qualifications
- STEM degree preferred (not required)
- Exposure to manufacturer technical datasheets (TDS)
- Hands-on experience with PTC Windchill and MPMLink
- Experience collecting, compiling, and maintaining data in structured database tools
Education
Accredited High School Diploma/GED required.
