Production Floor Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Location: Northeast Houston, TX 77028
Pay:$25.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | 2:00 PM – 1:30 AM, or until production is complete
Overtime: Significant overtime based on production needs
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Openwork is hiring an experienced Production Floor Supervisor for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Northeast Houston. This is a hands-on working supervisor role, not a desk-based position.

We're looking for someone who can lead by example, oversee a team of approximately 10 employees, actively support production activities, keep work moving, manage changing priorities, and maintain productivity and accountability throughout the shift.

Important: Candidates must be comfortable with long shifts, significant overtime, Saturday work, required PPE and respirator use, and occasionally handling heavy materials.

• Lead second-shift production and assign daily work
• Supervise, coach, train, and support approximately 10 employees
• Monitor workflow, productivity, attendance, and performance
• Keep production moving to meet quality and customer deadlines
• Work hands-on with the team to measure, stage, move, and inspect materials
• Assist with moving and handling heavy materials when needed
• Review work orders, drawings, measurements, and job specifications
• Verify product measurements, tolerances, and quality
• Resolve production delays, material issues, bottlenecks, and quality concerns
• Maintain employee accountability and production expectations
• Enforce PPE, housekeeping, equipment safety, and OSHA-safe work practices
• Communicate production updates and concerns to management

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, metal shop, job shop, construction, or similar experience
• Previous lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and job specifications
• Experience using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to convert decimals to fractions
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and production practices
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage changing priorities and hold employees accountable
• Trade school or technical manufacturing training is a plus

• 2:00 PM – 1:30 AM, or until production is complete
• Saturday work required based on production needs
• Significant overtime should be expected
• Hands-on work throughout the shift
• Must remain active for extended periods
• Must be comfortable occasionally moving or handling heavy materials
• Required PPE and respirator use
