About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting, bead blasting, or other media) on metal parts and surfaces in a manufacturing environment. This role involves handling metal surfaces, ensuring proper surface finishing, and adhering to safety standards to support quality production.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and finishing specifications to ensure correct application of media.
• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify the finish and quality standards.
• Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot blasting equipment and work areas to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
• Handle metal parts carefully to avoid damage, including rigging, lifting, or moving parts as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage and hazard communication protocols.
• Complete documentation related to job tracking and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with production staff, painters, and quality control personnel.
• Assist with additional shop duties such as masking, prep work, or minor assembly.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and finishing specifications.
• Ability to set up and operate abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including PPE usage and hazard communication.
• Experience handling metal parts and surfaces in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with abrasive blasting, sandblasting, bead blasting, or related media.
• Familiarity with inspecting surfaces before and after blasting.

Tools / Equipment / Systems

• Abrasive blasting equipment
• Basic hand tools for handling parts
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Physical effort involved in handling parts up to 30 lbs.
• Industrial work environment with exposure to noise, dust, and abrasive media.
• PPE required for safety.
