Position Summary
Join Bird Rock Coffee Roasters' RAD Lab Production Kitchen as a Production Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who values teamwork, consistency, and takes pride in behind-the-scenes work that directly impacts our customers' experience across 10+ cafe locations.
Primary Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Production Support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen facilities, including walls, floors, equipment, and reusables
- Assist with production tasks, including syrup making, chia preparation, and lil dipper production
- Support order fulfillment processes for retail locations and customer orders
- Perform routine kitchen maintenance tasks
Food Safety & Preparation
- Execute proper FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping and slicing, measuring and weighing with accuracy
- Maintain food safety standards and protocols at all times
- Support quality control measures throughout production processes
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with kitchen team members and communicate effectively
- Maintain open dialogue about kitchen operations and safety concerns
- Contribute to a positive, learning-oriented work environment
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold kitchen safety standards as a shared responsibility
- Follow all food safety regulations and Bird Rock protocols
- Report safety concerns or incidents immediately
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
Required:
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong team collaboration skills and positive attitude
- Reliability and consistency in work performance
- Quality-focused mindset with attention to detail
- Adaptability to changing production needs and priorities
- Food safety awareness or willingness to obtain certification
Preferred:
- Food service background or kitchen experience
- Basic knife skills for food preparation
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen operations
