Production Lead-2nd Shift

Summary of Position

The Production Lead coordinates the daily work of department employees, supports Machine Operators, and assists the Production Supervisor as needed. This position helps ensure production operations run safely and efficiently while meeting quality, food safety, scheduling, and productivity requirements.

Functions of Position

• Coordinates Machine Operator workloads and daily work assignments.
• Assists Machine Operators to ensure equipment and production lines are operating properly.
• Trains and coaches employees and supports their ongoing development.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts and communicates production or equipment needs to the Supervisor or Manager.
• Supplies equipment and materials needed by production line employees.
• Coordinates maintenance requests for equipment repairs as needed.
• Requests work orders from Scheduling and product from the Warehouse.
• Verifies work order accuracy and ensures production requirements are followed.
• Ensures finished products consistently meet or exceed established quality expectations.
• Fills in for Machine Operators or the Production Supervisor as needed.
• Creates pallet IDs, tickets, and case labels as required.
• Ensures the department consistently meets food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

• At least one year of experience within the department and the ability to operate department machinery is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to train and coach employees effectively.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workflow and effectively support production operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, and other departments.

Job Specific Requirements

• This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
