Key Responsibilities
Equipment Cleaning & Sanitation
- Perform cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly of filling and packaging equipment
- Execute sanitation of equipment and production lines in compliance with GMP standards
- Ensure all cleaning activities are documented per SOP requirements
Equipment Setup & Operation
- Set up and adjust packaging equipment, including:
- Coding devices
- Heat tunnels
- L-sealers
- Steam tunnels
- Induction sealers
- Set up and support filling equipment, including:
- Tube fillers
- Rotary fillers
- Positive displacement (PD) fillers
- Hot fill systems
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; escalate complex repairs as needed
- Support preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime
Production & Material Handling Support
- Transfer bulk product into designated holding containers following SOPs
- Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in compliance with company policy
- Assist with line changeovers and startup activities
Compliance & Documentation
- Follow all GMP, safety, and company policies
- Accurately complete required documentation (logs, checklists, batch records)
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or related field
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow SOPs and work in a GMP-regulated environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred
- Experience in cosmetics, personal care, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with filling and packaging equipment listed above
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of GMP principles and sanitation standards
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to:
Organize, maintenance operations and activities.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at work.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and cleaning chemicals
- Requires standing, walking, lifting (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]), and repetitive motion
- May require overtime or flexible scheduling based on production needs
