About Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions

Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions is a fast-growing defense technology company headquartered in the Tampa Bay area, Florida. Founded by U.S. and U.K. veterans, Marcurius brings decades of frontline experience across Special Operations and Intelligence missions, with deep expertise in asymmetric warfare and the real-world employment of unmanned systems.

Marcurius is building a new kind of unmanned systems company- multi-domain, multi-platform, and mission-driven. We integrate battle-proven platforms, resilient command-and-control architectures, and operator-led doctrine to deliver capabilities that work in contested environments. Our initial focus is the rapid fielding of advanced Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for modern maritime operations.

Role Overview

Marcurius is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Clearwater facility.

In this role, you will oversee production planning, scheduling, and daily execution, ensuring that complex engineered products are delivered safely, on time, and to the required technical and quality standards. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to transition products from development into repeatable manufacturing, build capable production teams, and establish efficient, scalable production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage production schedules, translating program milestones and delivery commitments into achievable weekly and daily build plans.
  • Develop capacity and resource plans covering labor, equipment, tooling, materials, suppliers, and inspection requirements.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to manage material requirements, work orders, production priorities, and material readiness in coordination with Supply Chain.
  • Lead daily production activities, monitor progress against schedules, resolve bottlenecks, and develop recovery plans when necessary.
  • Ensure manufacturing follows approved engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and configuration requirements, maintaining accurate build records and traceability.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality to maintain inspection, testing, acceptance, and corrective-action processes.
  • Lead, develop, and coach production supervisors, technicians, and manufacturing personnel, ensuring accountability, safety, and consistent performance.
  • Support new-product introduction and the transition from engineering development to repeatable manufacturing, improving manufacturability and production readiness.
  • Monitor production costs, labor utilization, work in progress, scrap, and rework, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate assembly, integration, test readiness, and delivery handover, ensuring complete documentation, accurate forecasts, and early escalation of risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of experience in manufacturing complex engineered products, including at least 3 years leading production teams and taking ownership of delivery performance. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated success delivering high-quality products on schedule across multiple production runs, supported by measurable results.
  • Strong experience in production planning, master scheduling, capacity management, labor allocation, material readiness, and schedule recovery.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, Excel, production reporting, and data-driven performance management.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation, with practical knowledge of assembly, integration, configuration control, and quality processes.
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and substantial hands-on experience.
  • Strong shop-floor leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

  • ASCM/APICS CPIM certification or equivalent production planning credentials.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or practical continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, maritime systems, robotics, or complex electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Experience with new-product introduction (NPI), production ramp-up, and scaling manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management environments.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent on-time delivery of high-quality products.
  • Efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes with reduced waste and rework.
  • Strong production team performance, safety, and accountability.
  • Accurate production planning, reporting, and traceability.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, fully on-site position at our Clearwater, Florida facility, with regular presence on the production floor.
  • Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment and follow established safety and PPE procedures.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate production records, quality standards, and safe manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams.
