Floor Coverings International of Cincinnati East
This is a hands-on, field-based role — on job sites, in the warehouse, and on the phone with crews every morning. Not remote. Not a desk job.
WHO WE ARE
We're Floor Coverings International of Cincinnati East — a team passionate about transforming spaces and serving others. Our mission is to deliver a seamless, customer-first flooring experience from inspiration to installation. Our vision is to be the most trusted flooring company known for unmatched customer care and quality craftsmanship.
We live by our values:
- Customer — Put the customer first.
- Integrity — Do what's right.
- Teamwork — Work as a team.
We work hard, we take care of each other, and we win as a team. If you came up through the trades, take pride in a job done right, and want to run production for a company that backs you — this seat was built for you.
THE ROLE
The Production Manager / Coordinator runs our installations from the field. You're the one who makes sure every job starts right, runs on schedule, and finishes clean — on time, on budget, and to our quality standard. You'll be the link between our customers, our sales team, and our installer network, keeping everyone aligned and every job moving.
If you know what a job site looks like when it's done right — and what it takes to get there — keep reading.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Job Management
- Launch every job with a confirmed scope of work, schedule, and installer crew assigned.
- Check in with installers each morning to confirm progress and head off problems before they grow.
- Walk scope and pay with each installer on-site the day the job begins.
- Track days-to-complete against the project days allocated and actively manage the schedule.
- Pull ETAs from installers and keep customers and the team updated proactively.
- Make sure every job closes out completely — trims, transitions, cleanup, punch-list items, and all customer concerns scheduled or resolved — and get customer sign-off on any added billable work, documented and communicated to the office, before you mark a job billable.
- Own repairs and rework — every reported issue addressed and resolved within 10 business days of notice.
Materials & Logistics
- Pull and prep job materials ahead of installer pickup.
- Run miscellaneous materials out to job sites when crews need them.
- Pick up materials from vendors when required.
- Take in and manage deliveries; keep the warehouse organized.
Quality Control & Customer Experience
- Get out to active job sites to verify quality, pace, and crew conduct.
- Catch and address customer concerns before and after the job is complete.
- Be the calm, decisive voice when something goes sideways — for customers and installers both. Solution-oriented and good under pressure.
- Handle small repairs and miscellaneous work yourself when needed.
Installer Network & Development
- Build and maintain a reliable bench of subs through active recruiting.
- Lead installer orientations so every new sub knows our standards and expectations.
- Invest in your crews — coordinate seminars, training, and ongoing coaching to sharpen their skills.
- Hold installers accountable professionally and fairly, so mistakes become learning moments.
- Keep relationships fair and respectful across installers, the sales team, customers, and the office.
Communication & Team Alignment
- Have installers send daily photo check-ins and progress updates on active jobs.
- Show up to team meetings and communicate straight — clear and honest.
- Own the handoff from sales to production — carry the baton and run it.
- Make decisions aligned with our mission and core values.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Trade experience. You've worked in flooring, construction, or home improvement and you know how a job site runs and what good work looks like. Flooring experience is highly desirable — we'll train the right person on our systems.
- Decisive and solution-oriented — you don't freeze when a job goes sideways, you handle it.
- Strong communicator — clear, honest, and timely with customers, installers, and teammates.
- Highly organized — you can run multiple active jobs at once without dropping the ball.
- Fair and consistent — you hold people accountable with respect, not frustration.
- Available and responsive — early mornings come with the territory; you're not caught off guard.
- Reliable transportation — you'll be moving between the office, vendors, and job sites regularly. (We have a production van.)
COMPENSATION & PERKS
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience — scalable hours available (part-time to full-time path).
- Performance bonuses tied to key delivery metrics.
- Mileage reimbursement or use of company vehicle for work-related activities.
- Ongoing training and development — we invest in your growth.
- A team that takes care of each other and recognizes the value you bring.
