Job Summary

The Company is hiring a Production Manager for a production-only manufacturing facility, reporting closely to the plant leader and functioning as an extension of that role. This is a replacement hire for a long-tenured incumbent. The facility runs 63 employees across two shifts, including three engineers, a small purchasing team, and production control staff, with assembly as the largest department. The plant is currently expanding, with additional machine lines being brought in from a sister facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee entry of work orders and coordinate with engineering on BOM changes
• Run MRP multiple times and manage material requirements and shortages
• Align purchasing schedules to production dates
• Prioritize, schedule, and reschedule jobs to keep production on track
• Manage expediting and day-to-day scheduling across departments
• Lead and coordinate a production control team of two
• Partner cross-functionally with purchasing, shop supervisors, and the assembly, welding, and machining departments
• Take ownership of deadlines and overall plant output
• Help modernize current processes (the role currently relies heavily on spreadsheets rather than the ERP system)

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Production Manager experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong SAP experience required (not just general ERP exposure)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally
• Proven people leadership ability
• Ability to manage scheduling, work orders, MRP-driven planning, shortages, expediting, and rescheduling
• Comfortable in a hands-on, shop-floor manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in machining, fabrication, and/or welding environments
• Prior shop-floor experience before moving into management
• 4-year degree preferred (field not important; lack of degree is not disqualifying)
• Standout leadership presence, intelligence, or people skills can offset gaps in the above

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $70,000–$85,000 depending on experience (potential flexibility up to a max of $95,000–$100,000 for a strong candidate)
• Bonus: Quarterly, typically 5–10% of salary, goal-based
• 401(k): 50¢ per dollar match up to 8%

Location

Georgetown, South Carolina — on-site role (not hybrid or remote). Typical hours fall within a 7:00 AM–5:00 PM window, minimum 8 hours/day with flexibility as needed. Weekend work is generally not required except for occasional needs like fiscal year-end. Some travel to a sister facility may be required, but the role is primarily based on-site.
