Production Manager

Location: Sumas, WA

Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

Lead a Plant. Build a Team. Make an Impact.

Our client is looking for a Production Manager who wants more than simply keeping the plant running. This is an opportunity to lead from the front, develop a high-performing team, and play a key role in driving the future of a growing manufacturing operation.

If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, coaching people, and creating an environment where employees take pride in their work, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

This is a highly visible leadership position where you'll work alongside Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, and Human Resources to ensure the operation is safe, efficient, productive, and continuously improving. You'll have the opportunity to influence the culture, develop future leaders, and help shape how the facility operates for years to come.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are exactly the same, but your focus will always be on leading people, improving operations, and delivering results. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing Production Supervisors and plant employees while creating a culture built around safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Driving operational excellence by meeting production, quality, cost, and customer service objectives.
  • Working closely with the Quality team to ensure products consistently exceed customer expectations while promoting continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Partnering with Maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall plant performance.
  • Supporting and expanding Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives by encouraging ownership and involvement across the production team.
  • Collaborating with Shipping and Receiving to optimize production schedules, improve workflow, and ensure customers receive products on time.
  • Working alongside Human Resources to recruit, develop, coach, and retain exceptional employees while building a highly engaged workforce.
  • Championing Lean Manufacturing initiatives, Kaizen events, and process improvements that eliminate waste and improve productivity.
  • Ensuring all employees receive effective training in safety, quality, production processes, and operational procedures.
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports while building strong succession plans and future leadership within the operation.
  • Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards through an effective and sustainable 5S program.
  • Using data, metrics, and employee feedback to identify opportunities for operational improvement and long-term success.

What We're Looking For

Our client is looking for a leader who enjoys being on the production floor, working alongside their team, and finding better ways to operate every day.

You'll be successful if you have:

  • A four-year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
  • At least five years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • A proven ability to lead teams through change while building trust and accountability.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations, safety programs, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop people at every level of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on leadership style.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is considered a strong asset but is not required.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

This is more than a Production Manager role. It's an opportunity to join an organization that values strong leadership, operational excellence, and investing in its people.

If you're looking for a position where your ideas matter, your leadership is valued, and your contributions directly impact the success of the operation, we'd love to tell you more.
