Overview
The Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment including troubleshooting and operator assisted maintenance. Operators will gain a thorough understanding of the processes and equipment operation and understand how safety can be impacted by any process change.
Responsibilities
- Performs all functions safely within the production areas
- Operates production equipment including troubleshooting and operator-assisted maintenance activities
- Learns and rotates to all jobs including floor operation, control room and quality control operations
- Supports maintenance through proper lock-out tag-out of equipment and issuing safety work permits when required
- Strictly follows all production specification sheets and Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintains accurate records of all observations and results
- Accurately and thoroughly reports data through written and oral reports to leadership
- Enters work notifications into SAP when malfunctioning equipment is identified and assists with initial trouble-shooting
- Accurately and timely reporting of all safety and environmental events
- Maintains and improves housekeeping standards in the work areas
- Participates in design discussions, writing and reviewing SOPs, performing line walk-downs, labeling equipment and other duties as assigned.
Shifts Rotating shifts 12-hour shifts
- 12 hour - 7am – 7pm & 7pm – 7am – 4 days on, 4 days off, rotating shifts (on call)
* Must be able to work weekends & holidays Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred.
- Previous training and/or experience on forklift operations a plus.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills by completing the ACT WorkKeys assessment testing and attain required scores.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a thorough understanding of the processes and equipment operation and understand how safety can be impacted by any process changes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent observation skills.
- Adaptable and strong willingness to learn.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of ESHA and other regulatory issues.
