Job Overview

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Production Packers to support manufacturing operations at a vinyl siding production facility in Jackson, MI. This position is responsible for inspecting, packing, labeling, and preparing finished siding and accessory products for shipment.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks throughout a 12-hour shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect finished siding panels for color inconsistencies, damage, and other quality defects.

• Pack, label, and organize finished siding and accessory products.

• Assemble and glue packaging boxes and prepare packing materials.

• Assist machine operators with production line setup and material handling.

• Monitor and replenish hot glue and other packaging supplies.

• Load finished product boxes onto pallets and secure pallets with straps.

• Report product defects, equipment concerns, and production issues to supervisors.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.

• Follow established safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.

• Assist with training new team members as needed.

• Perform additional production and packaging duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, production, packaging, or warehouse experience preferred.

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds safely.

• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods during 12-hour shifts.

• Ability to perform repetitive movements, including bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and gripping.

• Comfortable using basic hand tools and packaging equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.

• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate with team members.

• Dependable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and occasional chemical odors.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive movements.

• Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling of production materials.

• Must be comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts.

• Required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
