Job Description
Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Production Planner & Estimator on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh-area manufacturer. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Planner & Estimator is responsible for estimating work, purchasing equipment, production planning, and preparing proposals.
DUTIES
- Develop cost breakdowns for assigned projects and their individual components.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers for purchased components.
- Maintain job performance information for use in future estimating activities.
- Prepare and create final proposals.
- Perform production planning activities.
- Print routers for the client and ensure parts are properly routed.
- Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are created for the client.
- Coordinate with inventory and shipping departments to locate, pull, and ship materials to the client.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with manufacturing practices related to mill-type equipment and commercially available components.
- Design and/or shop experience with related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
