At Tesla's Megafactory, we are on a mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. The Production Planner plays a critical role in enabling this mission by ensuring our manufacturing operations run seamlessly. You will be responsible for building production schedules, aligning capacity with demand, and driving cross-functional collaboration to support the rapid growth of Tesla's energy products. This role demands a balance of strategic thinking, data-driven problem solving, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules that align capacity with demand, ensuring on-time delivery of fabricated components
Perform capacity and throughput analysis to support production roadmap decisions and long-term planning
Partner with manufacturing and support teams to design, implement, and continuously improve just-in-time and line-side Kanban delivery systems
Respond to unplanned changes by assessing impacts, recommending options, and ensuring alignment across downstream operations
Generate and present production performance metrics, forecasts, and risk assessments to proactively address supply-demand challenges
Drive clear communication of production plans, changes, and performance to all stakeholders-including manufacturing, supply chain, and business teams
Represent Production in Tesla's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring operational priorities align with business goals
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, or related field or equivalent experience
Proven experience in high-volume, large-scale production planning within manufacturing (automotive, energy, or high-tech preferred)
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) with working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills to support capacity planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and adaptability with a track record of driving cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments

Expected Compensation
$68,400 - $118,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
