Production Planning Functional ConsultantPortland, ORPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Service Parts Planning (SPP) and Production Planning (PP) within an enterprise resource planning environment. This role will focus on requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support across planning and related business processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with core interface integration, planning service management, distributed requirements planning, forecasting, inventory planning, bills of materials, production orders, and warehouse system integration.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze business needs, gather requirements, define scope, and support solutions involving Service Parts Planning and Production Planning.
- Work with core interface integration, bills of distribution, distributed requirements planning, forecasting models, and forecasting techniques.
- Configure and modify planning service management for native planning services, including service and process profile customization.
- Troubleshoot triggering mechanisms and planning service management logs.
- Maintain integration models supporting master and transactional data transfer between enterprise planning environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration errors using remote function call monitoring and support enhancements through business add-in implementations.
- Develop tier-down approaches for inventory allocation and deployment across the supply network.
- Configure stocking decisions using service-level targets and sales demand.
- Apply bill of materials, economic order quantity, safety stock, reorder-based planning, and period-based planning concepts.
- Support approvals and freeze horizons for schedule releases, planned orders, and purchase requisitions.
- Support releases and scheduling agreements that facilitate data transfer between Production Planning and Service Parts Planning.
- Maintain enterprise planning system-specific bills of materials, including usage, item categories, alternate bills of materials, and routings.
- Configure the conversion of planned orders to production orders, including stock allocation and release strategies that support warehouse systems.
- Support financial document postings generated through outbound and inbound deliveries related to production orders.
- Maintain application design, lifecycle, configuration, and change documentation.
- Develop and maintain functional and technical standards supporting Service Parts Planning, sales and distribution, materials management, and Production Planning environments.
Required Qualifications- Strong hands-on experience with Service Parts Planning.
- Strong working knowledge of Production Planning.
- Experience with enterprise planning system integration and core interface integration models.
- Expertise in planning service management configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with bills of distribution, distributed requirements planning, forecasting, inventory balancing, deployment, economic order quantity, and safety stock planning.
- Strong knowledge of bills of materials, routings, planned orders, production orders, purchase requisitions, and scheduling agreements.
- Experience troubleshooting core interface and remote function call integrations.
- Experience working with business add-in enhancements.
- Experience integrating production planning processes with warehouse systems.
- Working knowledge of related sales and distribution and materials management processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional solutions.
- Ability to maintain appropriate functional and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications- Deep functional expertise in Service Parts Planning.
- Practical knowledge of production planning, supply and inventory planning, enterprise planning system integration, and warehouse processes.
- Comfort working across both business requirements and detailed system configuration.
