Production Supervisor - 2ND SHIFT

Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Production Supervisor for our client based out of Dublin, VA.

This assignment is anticipated to be a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This position will work second shift, approximately 2:30 PM-1:00 AM, with some flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop employees within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate daily staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, and workforce needs.
• Oversee daily production performance with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and operational goals.
• Conduct team meetings and communicate expectations, priorities, and performance needs.
• Address workforce matters including attendance, overtime, performance, safety, and workplace procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and workplace requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and utilize Lean principles to identify waste and improve processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and development to team members.

Experience:

• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
• 3+ years of manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred, ideally within a unionized environment.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience managing staffing, employee performance, timekeeping, safety, and quality activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; Power BI experience preferred.
• Lean manufacturing experience and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing needs and make timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
