The LHH is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an opportunity to lead frontline operations within a growing organization that prioritizes efficiency, employee development, and operational excellence. In this role, you will drive daily production activities while partnering cross-functionally to improve workflows, enhance productivity, and maintain a strong team-oriented culture. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $77,000-85,000 per year and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all production staff, evaluate work orders, and create production schedules to meet customer demands
Coordinate the activities of the production team and ensure that materials and products move smoothly through the facility
Train employees on equipment, procedures, and operational best practices
Monitor and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and customer demands
Supervise workforce performance and provide coaching to improve productivity
Confirm accurate stock levels of all raw materials before adding to production schedule and assign work duties
Track operational metrics and address issues impacting throughput or accuracy
Manage workflow systems to coordinate production, fulfillment, and improve operational efficiency
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards
Collaborate with HR on hiring, employee relations, and performance management
Enforce safety policies and ensure adherence to quality standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering is preferred but not required
Minimum of 5+ years of production leadership experience within a manufacturing facility is required
Must have experience utilizing ERP, MRP, and/or WMS software
Must have the ability to manage workflows and drive operational performance improvements
Ideal candidates will have an understanding of production scheduling and understand how materials flow efficiently through a manufacturing facility
Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent communication skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and develop teams
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
