Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, lead production employees, and help ensure that orders are completed safely, efficiently, and to our quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a background in manufacturing or production, proven leadership experience, and the ability to keep a team organized, motivated, and accountable. Experience in printing, packaging, or a related industry is a strong plus.
This person should be a proactive problem-solver who can balance day-to-day production demands with long-term improvements in workflow, quality, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Daily Production: Coordinate and monitor daily production activities to ensure schedules, deadlines, and output goals are met.
- Lead the Production Team: Supervise, support, and motivate production employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
- Manage Workflow: Coordinate with production planning, prepress, quality control, and other departments to keep jobs moving efficiently through the manufacturing process.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure products meet specifications and company quality requirements while identifying and addressing production issues.
- Improve Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks, minimize downtime and waste, and recommend improvements to production processes.
- Troubleshoot Problems: Respond to equipment, material, staffing, and workflow challenges in a timely and practical manner.
- Promote Workplace Safety: Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized production environment.
- Monitor Performance: Track production progress, communicate delays or concerns, and help ensure the team meets established performance goals.
- Train and Develop Employees: Support employee onboarding, cross-training, and ongoing development to strengthen the team's capabilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or a related industrial environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to direct and support a team.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- A practical, hands-on approach to leadership and a willingness to get involved when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
- Experience with production scheduling, workflow coordination, or manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Printing, flexible packaging, or converting experience is a preferred.
